Anish Kapoor

There is currently an exhibition at Manchester art gallery by the artist Anish Kapoor.

His work is an incredible blend of colour, form and pure aesthetics. Unlike much of other contemporary art Kapoor's work is entirely accessible and Kapoor is at pains to express this. He is an artist of emotion, violence, subtlety, colour and above all form.

The colours in the above picture were inspired by Kapoor's native india, particularly it's spice markets. those of you who have been following my blog will know of my love for colour and indeed Jill Sander's S/S 2011 collection is reflective of this.

Above is a beautiful piece wielded from stainless steel and is entirely reflective which draws in the visitor to make the exhibition a participative experience. The exhibition is beautifully curated, allowing one to move around the pieces in a slow manner giving each piece its own space and atmosphere. Truly a visit far more worthy than a trip to Old Trafford!!!
